M. Le Métayer a montré que les niveaux d'évolution motrice permettant au jeune enfant valide d'atteindre la position debout avaient pour fondements des schèmes cérébro-moteurs, manifestation d'une motricité innée à caractère automatique. Solliciter ses schèmes en kinésithérapie permet de faciliter le mouvement recherché au moyen de guidages adapté dans d'autres champs que celui de la paralysie cérébrale : atteintes cérébrales acquises, pathologies entraînant un déficit de force, gériatrie, amputés..., ainsi qu'en manutention. Leur présence dans l'élaboration du geste sportif montre qu'ils sont une des composantes de l'acte moteur.

Mr. Le Métayer demonstrated that the levels of motor development enabling a young able-bodied child to achieve the standing position, were based on cerebral motor patterns, a manifestation of innate motor skills which are automatic. Soliciting these patterns in physiotherapy makes it possible to facilitate the desired movement by means of appropriate guidance, in situations other than cerebral palsy: acquired brain injury, pathologies leading to a lack of strength, geriatrics, amputees ..., as well as in manual handling. Their presence in the development of the sporting technique shows that they are one of the components of a motor skill.
