Articular dysfunction of the cervical spine can arise. Specific articular tests with respect to the cervical level enables one to determine the nature of the dysfunction. Normalisation of the joint without manipulation can be done via two techniques which use muscle energy: the Mitchell techniques and the levée de tension at the level of the intertransverse-transverse-spinous process.
