La rééducation myofonctionnelle orofaciale (RMOF) est la clé de voûte de la stabilité des traitements orthodontiques.
Les dernières données publiées ont montré la supériorité d'une RMOF associée au port d'une gouttière de rééducation préfabriquée (GRP) comparée à la mise en oeuvre d'une RMOF sans GRP. Il est donc souhaitable que les orthodontistes remettent une GRP à chacun des patients qu'ils adressent à un kinésithérapeute.
La gouttière myofonctionnelle orofaciale (GMO) est une nouvelle GRP qui nous semble constituer une amélioration des GRP existantes et conjuguer efficacité, sécurité et simplicité d'utilisation.

The orofacial myofunctional gutter (OMD) is the cornerstone of stable orthodontic treatment.
The latest published data have shown the superiority of OFMR combined with the use of a prefabricated reeducation appliance (PRA) compared with the use of OFMR without PRA. Orthodontists should therefore give a PRA to every patient they refer to a physiotherapist.
The GRMOF is a new PRA which we feel is an improvement on existing PRAs and combines effectiveness, safety, and ease of use.
