Les progrès contemporains de la science et de la technique poussent la profession de masseur-kinésithérapeute à légitimer scientifiquement ses actes. L'ajout de la recherche scientifique au couple patient-thérapeute est l'apanage de l'Evidence-Based Practice (EBP). L'EBP se place comme auxiliaire du raisonnement clinique , il se retrouve à chaque étape du double processus, largement utilisé par les thérapeutes, faisant appel à un modèle analytique et non analytique de réflexion.
Au cours de la réalisation d'un soin, cet outil de médiation se conceptualise sous une forme pratique au service du thérapeute et de sa technique. Ainsi, tous les thérapeutes utilisent un modèle EBP avec une ressemblance plus ou moins rigoureuse du modèle princeps, conscientisé ou non.

Contemporary advances in science and technology are pushing the physiotherapy profession to scientifically legitimise its actions. Adding scientific research to the patient-therapist pair is the prerogative of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP). EBP is an adjunct to clinical reasoning, it is found at each step of the double process, widely used by therapists, calling on an analytical and non-analytical model of reflection.
During the performance of a treatment, this mediation tool is conceptualized in a practical form at the service of the therapist and the technique employed. Thus, all therapists use an EBP model with a more or less rigorous resemblance to the original model whether conscious or not.
